New York hosts the largest city in the United States, New York City. New York also has the third highest population of any state in the union. It was one of the original 13 colonies and is one state tourists rarely overlook. When people think of America, they usually think New York. Other major cities in NY include Rochester, Schenectady, and Buffalo.

Whenever anyone says “The City,” New Yorkers know exactly what they mean. NYC is home to 40% of the entire state! As for the other 60%, out-of-staters will just assume they’re from The City anyway!
